    General Information

Messages, Announcements and Lost & Found at Camp
The “Big Board” for camper messages and Camp announcements will be in the Camp office. Please check it daily. Announcements will also be made during sessions and lunch as necessary.
There will be a box in the office for lost & found items.

    Problems and Questions
Problems and questions that arise during camp should be directed to our camp manager.
If the manager isn't in the Camp office, a worker will know how to find them.

    Cancellation Notice
Canceling prior to 60 days before camp (April 6th) will be a $50 cancellation fee plus any charges which were incurred to Power Paws if you paid by PayPal. 60 to 30 days (May 7th) prior to camp is a $100 cancellation charge plus any PayPal fees. Less than 30 days prior to camp the fees are 1/2 the registration, plus any PayPal fees. Canceling one week or less (May 29) prior to camp forfeits camp fees unless your spot can be filled.

    Video and Audio Taping
You are welcome to videotape your dog’s runs or your friend’s runs during camp exercises. However, you may not video or audio tape entire lectures, workshops, or training sessions.

    Practicing on Equipment
Before the first class of the day starts, during lunch, and after the last class ends, everyone—campers, observers, workers, and staff—is welcome to practice on the equipment with the following stipulations:

    • You may not move any equipment. The courses will already be set up for the next session and must be left as they were found
    • If our ring crew needs to move equipment in the ring where you are practicing, we ask that you take a break until they complete their work or move to an available practice area.
    • During the evening and/or lunch, instructors may occasionally close a ring to work their dogs. You are welcome to observe, but please respect their time with their dogs. Only campers and staff may train their dogs during the short 30 minutes breaks. Observers may not train during these breaks.
    Cars and Parking
    • Cars must be parked in one of the designated parking areas.
    • Please drive slowly and carefully, and obey all traffic signs on the grounds.
    Crating/Canopies
    • Setup areas will be clearly designated.

    Bandana System

Remember, no matter how friendly you think your dog is, there are many dogs who do not like other dogs bouncing into their personal space to say hello. So please be respectful and make sure that your dog doesn't approach other dogs without the owners’ permission. With that said, if you have a dog that is not highly social, and you are worried about other dogs getting “in his face,” we have special bandanas for your dog to wear. The bandana serves as a friendly reminder to other campers to keep their dogs out of your dog’s space. Bandanas are available at registration and the camp office.

    Observing
You are at Camp to observe sessions, lectures and workshops.
Observers may observe anywhere in Camp anytime they want.

    • Observers are welcome under the ringside canopies.
    • Observers dogs are NOT allowed under the canopies
    • Observers are encouraged to leave their dogs at their RV or
setup during Camp hours. If you need or wish to keep your
dog with you, please carry your own umbrella ringside.
    • Observers may not work dogs during any Camp hours for
any reason, any time. Camp hours are when regular scheduled
      classes are being held.
    • Observers may use any open ring before Camp, during lunch,
and after Camp, but not during the short 30 minute breaks.

    Picking Up After Your Dog

Please, please, clean up your poop and any you happen to see, even if it is not your own! Good campers do not care, they pickup any and all poop so that we all look good and get to comeback again next year! There are garbage cans and posts with clean-up bags located around the facility for your convenience.  Not picking up after your dog is cause for dismissal from camp.

    Dogs Off Leash

    • In and around the training areas, dogs must be on leash for their safety and the safety of others when not working.
    • Not all dogs like to be bothered and they’ll fight with strange dogs that approach them. As the owner of an off-leash dog, YOU are responsible for any conflict that arises. Please look for Camp bandanas which indicate dogs that are not highly social or owners that do not want their dogs bothered. If the bandana dog is also off leash, it’s your responsibility to keep your dog away from him and the bandana dog owner’s responsibility to keep his dog away from yours.
    • Dogs with aggression issues must not be allowed off leash anywhere on the grounds.

    Your Working Group

Based on the information that you gave us about your primary dog, or the groups that you formed yourselves before camp, you have been assigned to a working group. You may not switch working groups for any reason. Violation of this rule is cause for dismissal from camp. It is virtually impossible to create the groups without mixing dogs of different heights. To ensure that everyone in your group gets the most work possible, please jump in when it’s time to switch jump heights and help reset the bars.

    ID Badges

If you are working a dog, your camp ID badge shows the name of your working group.  Your badge must be easily visible during all sessions so that instructors can identify you.

    Working More Than One Dog

Your camp fee entitles you to one turn per group exercise or course run-through. REMEMBER: It is a camp entry requirement that your primary dog be your lower-level dog. IF you choose to alternate your turns in a session with your higher level dog, you are welcome to do so. IF you have chosen your higher-level dog as your primary dog at camp, you may not work your lower-level dog in any working session. There will be ample time to work your other dogs during off hours. During these times you may work younger dogs and dogs that were not eligible for camp registration.

Help your instructors end their sessions on time so that everyone has time to potty their dogs, get refreshments, and get to their next class. Also please respect the instructor’s “down time” during breaks so that they have a chance to get drinks and snacks and care for their own dogs.

    Private Lessons
Please be aware that the staff is NOT available for private lessons during camp.

    First Aid & Emergencies
    • Call 911 immediately if it is a serious medical emergency.
    • Minor medical supplies (band-aids, ice packs, etc.) are available in the first aid kit which will be kept in the Camp office.
    • If you have an emergency, call the camp manager. If you can’t reach them,
try Nancy Gyes at 408.829.5560 or Jim Basic at 408.829.5561

If you are going to the hospital for any reason, please let the camp manager know as soon as possible.
